Labor Preparation
After 9 months of growing a human (seriously, the female body is incredible) it all culminates with birth! Labor and delivery is an amazing experience for a woman and the best way to ensure a positive birth story is with knowledge and proper preparation. The Labor Preparation is broken down into 4 visits and covers everything you need to know about birth to make sure you get the labor and delivery of your dreams!
Visit 1 is recommended around 32 Weeks and will discuss:
After 36 Weeks, acupuncture is recommended weekly to help support easy labor and birth.
At 39 weeks, it is recommended to start bi weekly acupuncture to help prevent post dates.
Throughout the labour preparation, we will be discussing a full birth plan with a special focus on having a plan for the unexpected so that you and your partner feel confident and in control no matter what turns labor may take.
Visit 1 is recommended around 32 Weeks and will discuss:
- Stages of labour including effacement and dilation.
- Signs of labour
- Labour progression from pre labour to delivery
- How to know when it's time to go to the hospital or call the midwife including birthing location
- How to time contractions
- Natural coping mechanisms
- Comfort measures
- Natural induction methods
- Possible medical interventions
- Medical pain management
- C-Section birth
- After birth procedures
- Special considerations
- Homework and Birth Plan
- Birth plan
- Breastfeeding
- And will begin labor support acupuncture.
